Child Obtained!

Milly always ventured down to the Nook to play with the wynglings that lived there. Recently Alma had even started trusting her with looking after them for short periods of time, she was feeling very responsible. She loved all her little wyngling friends and always looked forward to spending time with them, coming as often as she could. Today she had a new wyngling join in her games, she gladly welcomed the unusual green gro to the game and, though he seemed apprehensive at first, she was happy to see him have fun in the end. Before long she had to leave, waving goodbye to the disappointed wynglings and heading home.

A few days later she returned to the Nook once again, it was early so she wasn't expecting anyone to come yet, but she wanted to get the most out of the day. Much to her surprise the green gro she now knew as Retrofire from the last time ran to greet her. Of course she was more than happy to have his company, introducing herself officially to the small gro. When she had to leave again later that day, she noticed Retro lingering briefly before joining the others to go back. She paused to watch him go, wondering what it was about this wyngling. She shook her head and continued on her way.

The next time she returned, he was there again. She noticed that each time she saw the wyngling, he looked a little happier, it made her feel happy too. After a while Alma turned up and summoned Retro, she wondered what they were talking about over there. She couldn't stop thinking about him, why did this wyngling interest her so much? Soon enough he came back and came straight over to her. She was happy of course, but she never saw him playing with any of the other wynglings. He seemed to join in, but he never spoke much to anyone but her...she wondered if he was lonely. She found herself thinking about it all the way home that day.

Upon returning the next day she saw a small, familiar green bundle at the front door. She approached cautiously, seeing that he was asleep she felt a pang of alarm at the thought that he had been there all night in the cold. She gently nudged the sleeping figure, eager to check whether he was alright. He groaned and opened his eyes, which quickly lit up as he suddenly rubbed his face against hers.
"I'm so happy to see you!"
Milly drew back a little, surprised at the sudden outburst of affection."I'm happy to see you too..."
She relaxed and playfully pawed at him, laughing, "What were you doing sleeping outside silly." Retro shrugged, "Doesn't matter now, let's play!" So off they went.

Milly began heading home for the day, leaving the Nook behind her. She was deep in thought when a voice chimed in from beside her.
"So where do you live anyway?" 
Milly looked around in panic, "W-What are you doing here?!" Retro was here alone and Alma was no where in sight. If Alma found out about this, she would think she orchestrated it or something. What if she took away her rights to hang out at the Nook!? "You need to go back Retro."
Retro seemed unsure of what to say, finally coming to a decision. "I don't like being at the Nook...But I like you." He met her worried gaze "Why can't I just go home with you?"

Milly looked into his eyes, they glittered with hope and anticipation, awaiting her answer. She stopped, his response hit her hard. She could see through the smiles and the light in his eyes, when she was with him. Underneath it all she could sense loneliness. She watched as his ears drooped and the hope in his eyes died, he thought she was going to bring him back judging by her silence. Milly had figured out why this child had taken her interest so much. Milly had only ever experienced loneliness a few times, but she knew how painful it could be and how much it meant to have someone there to support you. Retro didn't have that at the Nook and it brought sadness to her heart to see anyone on their own.

Milly came to a decision. She stood up straight and turned away from Retro, walking on onward along the path. Retro's eyes lowered as he started to turn back to the Nook as well, but before he started walking Milly glanced back at him. "What are you doing? My place is this way silly," she grinned cheekily as Retro swung back around in disbelief.
Retro almost couldn't believe it,"Can I really come with you?"
"Only on the condition that you tell Alma I didn't kidnap you without permission. Also I hope you're not afraid of the dark, that would be a problem."

The two of them happily walked off towards the forest, excited to start the next part in their adventure 


I love these precious beans, I've been meaning to respond for a while, and here it is woo! Milly is determined to care for this child, hurt him in any way shape or form at the risk of your life
